To Grow is Your Responsibility

Last Sunday, I started a sermon series at Phnom Penh Church (PPC) on How to Live Your Christian Life from Mondays to Saturdays. You see, there are many who are called Sunday Christians. Their life on Sunday has nothing to do with their life on Monday. This is a great divorce Christians should never practice. In order to live your Christian life on Monday, you must grow up! Thus, I started off the series talking about Growth. One of the facts I highlighted was Growth is not automatic, it's a process. No one grows automatically. No one grows overnight. No one grows accidentally because growth is intentional.

Although there are many aspects and means to spiritual maturity, one thing is certain; the nourishment that comes from the Word of God. It is therefore your responsibility as Christian to feast on the Word everyday and not to depend on the pastor to feed you every Sunday. While the pastor's message should be motivating, encouraging, challenging, nourishing and enriching, depending on the pastor's message alone is never enough for your spiritual nourishment.
